The Como Golf Academy’s Upper School Championships were contested at Royal Perth Golf Club on Monday 15th June.

The event is a true test of golf, with students competing on our Championship course over 36 holes. Out of the eight participants, three are junior members of Royal Perth; Mai Julius, Corley McLernon and Jai Hutchison.

On the day, it was WA Boys State Team member Jordan Jung who claimed the honours. With rounds of 72-71, Jung finished 1under off the stick. Royal Perth member Mai Julius was Runner Up, shooting a combined score of 8over off the stick over 36 holes. Other notable results included an eagle on the 7th hole by Jai Hutchison in the second round.

Como Golf Academy Teacher in Charge Adam Smith commented “The hospitality we received was first class and we are extremely grateful for the club’s continued generosity by granting us courtesy of the course. Such gestures make a significant contribution to the development of our Golf Program.

“The students thoroughly enjoyed the high quality and challenge of the course, which once again proved a good test for them.

“As an Academy we are extremely fortunate to have the support of one of Australia’s most prestigious golf clubs and I look forward to building upon the fantastic relationship we have with Royal Perth Golf Club.”
